SRINAGAR, June 15: Jammu and Kashmir experienced rainfall, with the meteorological department predicting additional precipitation in scattered areas until June 17. According to an official from the department, Pahalgam received 0.4mm of rain in the past 24 hours, Kokernag received 0.2mm, Jammu recorded 13.7mm, Banihal had traces, Batote received 2.6mm, Katra received 3.4mm, Bhaderwah had 8.8mm, and Kathua received 7.2mm.
The forecast indicates that light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir until June 17. There is a 60% chance of moderate to heavy thundershowers in locations such as Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, and Samba during the 15th and 16th.
Temperature-wise, Srinagar witnessed a low of 17.3°C, which was 3.0°C above normal for this time of year. Qazigund recorded a low of 16.0°C, which was 3.1°C above normal. Pahalgam had a low of 10.1°C, 1.9°C above normal. Kupwara settled at 14.7°C, 2.1°C above normal. Kokernag had a low of 14.3°C, 2.2°C above normal. Gulmarg recorded a low of 9.5°C, 0.7°C above normal. Jammu recorded a low of 21.7°C, 4.1°C below normal. Banihal settled at 16.2°C (2.1°C above normal), Batote at 16.8°C (0.9°C above normal), Katra at 19.6°C (2.5°C below normal), and Bhaderwah at 15.2°C (1.7°C above normal).
