BEIJING, Apr 25: India and China agree to expedite resolution of Ladakh standoff, Chinese Defense Ministry says Top military officials from India and China have agreed to accelerate the resolution of “relevant issues” related to the ongoing standoff in eastern Ladakh, the Chinese Defense Ministry said on Tuesday. The two sides held the 18th round of China-India Corps Commander level talks at the Chushul-Moldo border meeting point on the Chinese side on April 23, ahead of Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu’s planned visit to India. Both sides agreed to maintain close contact and dialogue through military and diplomatic channels to speed up the settlement of issues and continue to safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas, the ministry said. The ties between the two countries soured after a violent clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, marking the most serious military conflict between the two sides in decades.
