New Delhi, Jun 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday that India is making significant progress with a well-defined roadmap for environment protection and climate change. He highlighted the country’s commitment to striking a balance between present requirements and future aspirations.
Addressing the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Modi pointed out that while India has expanded its 4G and 5G telecom networks, it has also placed equal emphasis on enhancing forest cover. He emphasized that India has been consistently working on the issue of single-use plastic, a topic that has gained global attention in recent years.
Modi highlighted India’s efforts from 2018 onward to tackle single-use plastic at multiple levels. The country implemented a ban on single-use plastic while also mandating the processing of plastic waste. He stressed that India’s focus on the environment is on par with its attention to other areas of growth.
The Prime Minister emphasized that India has provided assistance to the underprivileged while taking major steps to meet future fuel requirements. Over the past nine years, the country has dedicated significant efforts to green and clean energy initiatives, Modi added.
India’s commitment to environmental sustainability and combating climate change remains steadfast, as the nation continues to make strides towards a greener and more sustainable future.
