New Delhi, May 10: India recorded 2,109 fresh COVID-19 infections, bringing the total tally to 4.49 crore (4,49,74,909), as per data from the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday. The number of active cases has decreased from 22,742 to 21,406. The death toll rose to 5,31,722, with eight fatalities reported, including reconciled data from Kerala.
The active cases now constitute 0.05% of the total infections, standing at 21,406. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was reported at 98.77%, with a total of 4,44,21,781 individuals having recovered from the disease. The case fatality rate remained at 1.18%.
The Ministry’s website indicates that a total of 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive so far.
