NEW DELHI, May 3: India has reported 3,720 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4.49 crore (4,49,56,716), according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active cases stands at 40,177, which accounts for 0.09% of the total infections. The death toll due to the virus has risen to 5,31,584, with 20 more fatalities recorded, including five reconciled by Kerala. However, the national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.73%, with 4,43,84,955 people having recovered from the disease. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%. The nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive has administered 220.66 crore doses of vaccines so far, according to the ministry’s website.
