New Delhi, September 9 – On Saturday, India reported 59 fresh COVID-19 infections, with the number of active cases slightly decreasing to 479 compared to the previous day, as per data from the Union health ministry.
These new infections pushed the nation’s total COVID-19 tally to 4.49 crore (4,49,97,642). The recorded death toll stood at 5,32,025, as of the data updated at 8 am.
The number of individuals who have successfully recovered from the disease has risen to 4,44,65,138. The country’s national recovery rate remained strong at 98.81 percent, as indicated by the health ministry’s website.
The case fatality rate continued to be at 1.18 percent.
According to the ministry’s website, a total of 220.67 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country thus far.
