Ladakh, June 21 : Indian Army personnel showcased their dedication to yoga by performing it at Ladakh’s Pangong Tso Lake on the 9th International Yoga Day. Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande joined in the practice at Delhi Cantonment, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar performed yoga on board INS Vikrant at Kochi in Kerala. In another significant event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a yoga program at the United Nations Headquarters with the UN leadership and members of the international community. The International Day of Yoga, celebrated worldwide on June 21, aims to raise awareness about the multitude of benefits yoga offers for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Prime Minister Modi introduced the concept of International Yoga Day in 2014, and since then, it has gained immense popularity globally. This year’s theme is ‘Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One World-One Family,’ emphasizing the inclusive and unifying nature of yoga. The occasion was marked with various yoga programs held throughout India, spreading awareness about the ancient Indian practice and its holistic advantages.
