Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, has highlighted India’s growing leadership role on the global stage, emphasizing that the world is applauding India for taking the lead rather than merely following in the footsteps of others. Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his role in advancing India’s development trajectory, asserting that the country has moved beyond the era of emulation and is now charting its own course.
Singh also lauded India’s achievements in the space sector, highlighting the nation’s abundant talent and capabilities. He recounted the early days of India’s space program, where visionary scientists like Vikram Sarabhai dedicated themselves to the cause, even resorting to personal means like cycling to fulfill their missions due to resource constraints.
Furthermore, Singh expressed support for the involvement of private entities in India’s space program, noting the transformative impact of Prime Minister Modi’s tenure in this regard. The recent successful launch of Aditya-1 showcased the collaboration between ISRO and various organizations, underscoring the benefits of public-private partnerships in advancing the space sector.
In a separate event, Singh launched the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign as part of the Amrit Kalash Yatras, symbolizing public participation in the nation’s prosperity. He emphasized that India’s recent achievements in space exploration have been made possible through the public-private partnership model, allowing India to reach new heights in the sector.
Singh concluded by highlighting India’s significant progress in space exploration over the past nine years, positioning the nation on par with esteemed organizations like NASA and Roscosmos. He noted that ISRO now collaborates with these entities on space expeditions, solidifying India’s status as a prominent player in the global space arena.
