New Delhi ,May 17 : IndiGo, the leading carrier in India, has announced the induction of its second Boeing 777 aircraft on a damp lease. Starting from May 17, the airline will commence operations on the Mumbai-Istanbul route with this new aircraft. The Boeing 777 boasts a dual-class configuration, accommodating 400 passengers with 24 business and 376 economy class seats. IndiGo has already been operating its first wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft on the Delhi-Istanbul route since February 1 of this year. These additions aim to meet the growing demand for international travel from India.
Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, expressed his satisfaction with the induction, stating that the new aircraft will provide more convenient travel options for passengers flying between India and Europe during the summer. Istanbul serves as a crucial hub, connecting travelers to 33 European destinations through codeshare connectivity. The expanded capacity on the Mumbai-Istanbul route will not only meet the rising demand but also help maintain affordable fares.
