Poonch, August 19th: A contingent of 1500 devotees embarking on the Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra from various corners of the nation has arrived in Poonch, where they received a hearty reception from the local Hindu, Sikh, and Muslim communities. The leader of the inaugural group, Suryia Narain, Vice President of the All India Bajrang Dal, was felicitated by members of the organization. In a show of appreciation, the Bajrang Dal extended honors to the District Development Commissioner of Poonch, the Senior Superintendent of Police for Poonch, and the Commandant of CRPF’s 38th Battalion, all of whom were present.
Tomorrow morning, the first assembly will set forth on the journey towards the Baba Budha Amarnath Mandi Yatra in the Poonch district, situated 30 kilometers away from the city of Poonch, to pay their respects at the sacred shrine, as per official reports.
The Budha Amarnath Yatra, spanning the upcoming 11 days, is now underway, with the initial batch of pilgrims commencing their spiritual expedition from Jammu early on Friday.
Ensuring utmost security preparations for the Yatra, Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, conveyed his well-wishes to the pilgrims as they embarked on their pilgrimage. He stated to reporters, “Comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place for the Budha Amarnath Yatra, commencing today. The Yatra is scheduled to unfold over the next 11 days. We extend our best wishes to all the yatris for a safe and prosperous journey.”
