J&K, June 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, commended the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for its significant contribution to the implementation of various policies related to economic development. Speaking at the 12th residential meeting of ICAI members in Srinagar, Sinha acknowledged the continuous support provided by ICAI to government and regulatory bodies in implementing policies aimed at fostering economic growth. He emphasized the crucial role of ICAI as a partner in nation-building, facilitating the rapid collective efforts towards development.
Sinha highlighted the remarkable achievement of India as the fifth largest economy in the world, which has instilled newfound vigor and confidence in the nation. This has spurred enthusiasm across society to propel every sector towards progress. Sinha cited notable advancements in areas such as GST collection, foreign exchange reserves, private equity, domestic investment, schemes under Atma-Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), and infrastructure development projects. He expressed that each sector is witnessing a transformation in terms of definition and a culture of development.
Furthermore, Sinha emphasized that the ongoing development projects led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have significantly altered the world’s perspective towards Jammu and Kashmir, positioning the region as a beacon of progress and opportunity.
