Srinagar, July 13: As per the meteorological department, Jammu and Kashmir are expected to witness mostly dry weather in the coming days, with a possibility of isolated very light rain and thunderstorms. The minimum temperature has seen an increase at most places across the region.
In Srinagar, the summer capital, the minimum temperature rose to 17.6°C from the previous night’s 16.8°C, which was 0.5°C below normal. Similarly, Qazigund, the gateway town of the Kashmir Valley, recorded a low of 17.0°C, marking an increase of 0.5°C above normal.
Pahalgam, the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, experienced a minimum temperature of 10.3°C, slightly below normal by 1.7°C. Kupwara town in north Kashmir saw the mercury settling at 15.5°C, remaining 0.9°C below normal.
Other regions also saw temperature variations. Kokernag recorded a low of 16.5°C, Gulmarg witnessed 11.6°C, Jammu registered 25.9°C, Banihal recorded 18.7°C, Batote saw 18.5°C, Katra experienced 22.3°C, and Bhaderwah recorded 16.3°C.
The weather department also mentioned the likelihood of intermittent light to moderate rain at various places in Jammu and Kashmir from July 15-17.
As the region braces for rising temperatures and predominantly dry weather conditions, residents are advised to stay prepared and take necessary precautions.
