Jammu, MAY 29 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Jambu Zoo in Jammu, emphasizing the Union Territory’s pivotal position in its development journey. He stated that J&K is on the verge of remarkable growth, with the youth playing a crucial role in shaping the future of New Jammu Kashmir. The zoo, covering an expansive 70-hectare area, was initiated as part of the Languishing Project and is expected to attract both locals and tourists. With the successful G20 Summit and global recognition of J&K’s development, Sinha urged collective efforts to align with the progress of other states and contribute to the ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. The Lieutenant Governor commended the rise of young entrepreneurs and their dedication to fostering a prosperous society while preserving the region’s cultural values and commitment to peace. Sinha expressed confidence in Jammu’s transformation and the UT’s journey towards peace, progress, and prosperity. He also highlighted ongoing development projects, including the completion of Jammu River Tawi front and the forthcoming inauguration of Tirupati Balaji Temple on June 8. The Jambu Zoo offers a wide range of attractions such as animals, viewpoints, an amphitheater, souvenir shops, parks, nature trails, refreshment points, and BOVs for visitors. During its initial week, entry to the zoo will be free of charge, as announced by the wildlife department official.
