Srinagar, Aug 05: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, celebrated the fourth anniversary of Article 370’s abrogation by highlighting the positive changes in the region. According to him, a peaceful atmosphere now prevails, and the youth have been empowered to pursue their aspirations freely.
During his visit to SKICC Srinagar to distribute certificates to BSE trained candidates, appointment letters to Anganwadi Workers, and special aids to specially-abled individuals, the LG expressed his satisfaction with the current situation. He stated that the region has witnessed a significant transformation, as street protests, school closures, stone-pelting, and separatism have ceased to exist.
Since the scrapping of the special status of the erstwhile J&K state and its division into two Union Territories—Ladakh and J&K—people’s lives have improved remarkably. The LG noted that citizens can now enjoy their evenings outside, spending time in markets and parks without fear, which was uncommon in the past.
He credited the end of Pakistan-backed propaganda and the ensuing peace as the most significant achievements of this new era. Despite these accomplishments, the LG emphasized that it is only the beginning, and more positive developments are expected in the future.
Under the mission youth, the J&K administration has collaborated with the Mumbai Stock Exchange to create additional opportunities for the region’s youth. This initiative has resulted in numerous youngsters shaping their futures and excelling in various fields. The LG believes that providing a platform for young talents to showcase their skills is vital for the region’s progress.
