New Delhi, June 23 : JP Nadda Reminds of Indira Gandhi’s Imprisonment of Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar, Questions Their Welcome of Rahul Gandhi in Patna” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, JP Nadda, expressed his surprise at the current political scenario during a public rally in Kalahandi. He highlighted how Indira Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother, had previously imprisoned Lalu Yadav for 22 months and Nitish Kumar for 20 months. Nadda questioned the contradiction of today, where both Yadav and Kumar were seen welcoming Rahul Gandhi in Patna. He pondered over the transformation in politics and how things have changed over time.
In a separate event, Rahul Gandhi addressed Bihar Congress party workers in Patna, emphasizing the ideological battle between the Congress party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India. He referred to the Congress party’s ‘Bharat Jodo’ ideology and the RSS-BJP’s ‘Bharat Todo’ ideology, stating that the Congress party’s DNA is deeply rooted in Bihar.
Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Mallikarjun Kharge, arrived in Patna to attend an Opposition leaders’ meeting hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The objective of the meeting was to reach a consensus and form a united Opposition front to challenge the BJP in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The highly-anticipated Opposition meeting took place in Patna, symbolizing the historic 1974 call for total revolution by Jayaprakash Narayan, which led to the downfall of Indira Gandhi’s government.
