Jammu, July 27: With resounding chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole,’ a fresh contingent of 3111 pilgrims embarked on their spiritual journey from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp on Thursday, heading towards the revered Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine nestled in the South Kashmir Himalayas.
According to officials, the group, consisting of 2154 pilgrims, including 1686 males, 424 females, six children, and 47 sadhus, set forth for Pahalgam in a convoy of 83 vehicles. Simultaneously, 907 pilgrims, comprising 616 males, 336 females, and five children, commenced their yatra for Baltal in a convoy of 41 vehicles, all under tight security arrangements.
The yatra, which commenced on July 1, is slated to conclude on August 31, attracting devotees from various walks of life to undertake this sacred pilgrimage to seek blessings at the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine.
