SRINAGAR, Apr 24: In a major development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized a property belonging to Syed Ahmad Shakeel, the elder son of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The attachment was carried out under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on Friday. The property, located in the Rambagh area of the city, has been linked to the proceeds of terrorism received by Shakeel from his father, who is based in Pakistan and has been designated as a global terrorist by the United States. This move by the NIA is part of its ongoing crackdown against terror funding and related activities in the region.
