Amritsar, May 8 : Second Explosion Near Golden Temple Causes No Injuries or Damage
In a disconcerting turn of events, an explosion occurred on a heritage street near the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Monday morning, in close proximity to the location of a blast reported on May 6, as confirmed by the police.
Fortunately, Monday’s blast resulted in no injuries or damage. The cause of the explosion is yet to be determined, according to authorities.
The explosion took place near the same area on the heritage street that leads to the Golden Temple, where the incident on Saturday had occurred, as stated by the police.
Eyewitnesses reported that the blast took place around 6:30 am. Promptly, the police and forensic teams arrived at the scene to collect samples for further investigation.
Local residents have called for a comprehensive inquiry into both explosions. Jasbir Singh Patti, a daily visitor to the Golden Temple for the past 20 years, expressed concerns over the panic created among devotees and emphasized the need for a thorough investigation by the police.
In the blast on Saturday, one person was injured, and the glass facades of several buildings sustained damage.
