Lasalgaon’s Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) in Nashik has recommenced onion auctions today, following a three-day suspension triggered by the imposition of a 40 percent export duty. Traders, exporters, and local farmers united in a meeting with Union Minister Dr. Bharati Pawar yesterday to address the matter. Dr. Pawar expressed her commitment to advocate for a reconsideration of the export duty with the government, raising hopes for a favorable resolution.
Furthermore, the APMC Vashi, another agricultural market committee, has reversed its earlier decision to shut down on Thursday as a mark of protest against the 40 percent export duty on onions.
