New Delhi, 01 Aug : According to political sources within the saffron party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has assumed control of Rajasthan to secure victory in the forthcoming Assembly elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent tweet supporting the state BJP’s proposed ‘Maha gherao’ campaign indicated the party’s commitment to winning over the state.
In his tweet, PM Modi criticized the present Congress rule in Rajasthan, stating that the public is eager to end the state’s misrule and is rallying behind the BJP’s campaign. The party’s national president, J.P. Nadda, also held a core committee meeting in Jaipur, where he reviewed the progress of the party’s ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan’ (Mega Contact Campaign) and discussed strategies for the upcoming elections in five states and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The party leaders have declared that the elections in Rajasthan will be fought on the face and work of PM Narendra Modi, as he has made multiple visits to the state recently. However, a recent survey projecting 88 seats for Congress and 118 seats for BJP has made the saffron party anxious, as they were hoping for a resounding victory with 170 seats.
As the polls are just four months away, the BJP’s central leadership is taking decisive action in Rajasthan. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s popularity due to successful social security schemes has been a concern for the BJP, leading to their proactive approach in the state.
