Apr 06 : Opposition parties to take out ‘Tricolour March’ demanding JPC probe in Adani-Hindenburg row
The MPs of several opposition parties have planned a ‘Tricolour March’ on Thursday, the last day of the Budget Session of Parliament, to demand a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the Adani-Hindenburg row. The march will start from Parliament and go till Vijay Chowk, followed by a joint press conference by the floor leaders of the parties at the Constitution Club.
The opposition has been demanding a JPC probe into the issue, while the government has been asking for an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks during his UK trip. Both Houses of Parliament have been disrupted over this issue, and the Finance Bill was passed without any discussions.
The opposition has accused the government of trying to evade discussions on important issues like scams, price rise, unemployment, and misuse of agencies. Trinamool Congress’ member Derek O’Brien tweeted on Sunday that the Rajya Sabha has “functioned for an average of 20 minutes daily this Session (excluding time taken to congratulate #Oscar winners)” and that the government “wants to run away from discussing” these issues.
