New Delhi, Aug 2: The opposition bloc in INDIA has taken action by submitting a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu, calling for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a statement in Parliament regarding the Manipur issue. Additionally, they have demanded that the Prime Minister visit the troubled state to help restore peace.
In the memorandum presented to the President, 31 opposition leaders expressed concerns about communal tension in Haryana’s Nuh and criticized the Central government for seemingly disregarding the developments occurring “barely 100 km from the Prime Minister’s Office.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, speaking to the media, highlighted that the delegation, including MPs who visited Manipur, informed the President about the situation in the state and shared their firsthand accounts.
The opposition bloc passionately implored the President to exert pressure on the Prime Minister to urgently address Parliament regarding the prevailing situation in Manipur, followed by a thorough and comprehensive discussion on the matter.
