New Delhi , May 3 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress party of targeting Lord Hanuman devotees by promising to ban the Bajrang Dal, a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization. Speaking at a political rally in Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi alleged that after targeting Lord Ram, the Congress has now set its sights on Lord Hanuman and the devotees who worship him. The Bajrang Dal, which is associated with the Vishva Hindu Parishad, has been accused of inciting violence and promoting communal disharmony in the past. However, PM Modi’s statement has been met with criticism from opposition leaders, who have accused him of pandering to religious sentiments for political gain.
