Srinagar: Rafi Ahmad Mir, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Pahalgam and General Secretary of Apni Party, met with the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan Srinagar to discuss a wide range of public issues concerning the Pahalgam constituency.
Mir discussed developmental and tourism-related matters. Several key points were discussed, with a focus on enhancing the socio-economic landscape of Pahalgam and its surrounding areas. Mir expressed his gratitude to the Lt Governor for acknowledging the pivotal role played by the local community in the successful organization of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrimage.
Mir submitted a memorandum of demands urging the government to take special initiatives including training programs for young sportspersons in Pahalgam.
Mir raised the issue of upgradation of the Aishmuqam Hospital from a Primary Health Centre (PHC) to a Sub-District Hospital (SDH) to improve healthcare services and accessibility and upgradation of Boys High School in Aishmuqam to ensure a high-quality education environment for the local youth.
Besides this, deployment of state-of-the-art medical machinery at both Sallar and Aishmuqam Hospitals to enhance healthcare facilities and services was also demanded.
Mir requested the Lt Governor to for beautifying the road leading to the revered Ziyarat Sharif Aishmuqam to create a more welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment.
Mir also discussed the tourism upliftment of Pahalgam as an all-season tourist destination with adequate power supply.
