The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) is planning to launch a state-wide Bus Yatra featuring its top leaders. This Yatra will be graced by the presence of both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
On the other hand, YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila recently announced her party’s intention to contest all 119 Assembly constituencies in the upcoming elections. Speaking amidst enthusiastic supporters at the party office, Sharmila emphasized the party’s dedication to the welfare of the people and its commitment to upholding YSR’s legacy of “golden rule.”
Sharmila also confirmed her candidacy from the Palair constituency and expressed her willingness for her mother, Vijayamma, to contest if the need arises.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) revealed that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled for November 30, with the counting of votes set for December 3.
The forthcoming Telangana Assembly election promises to be a three-way contest involving the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and the Congress. In the previous 2018 Assembly election, BRS secured a significant victory, winning 88 out of 119 seats and holding a dominant vote share of 47.4 percent. The Congress followed with 19 seats and a vote share of 28.7 percent.
