New Delhi, May 16: The Indian government has officially appointed Ravneet Kaur as the Chairperson of the Competition Commission of India (CCI), as stated in an official order. The position of Chairperson had been vacant since October 2022 when Ashok Kumar Gupta’s term ended.
Sangeeta Verma, a CCI Member, had been serving as the Acting Chairperson since October last year.
Ravneet Kaur, a 1988 Punjab cadre IAS officer, has been appointed for a period of five years from the date of assuming charge or until the age of 65, or until further orders, as mentioned in the order dated May 15.
According to the order, the Chairperson will receive a consolidated salary of Rs 4,50,000 per month, excluding house and car allowances. (Agencies)
