Baramulla, May 15 : Brigham Young, one of the famous American religious leader and politician once said, “You empower a man; you empower an individual. You empower a woman; you empower a generation”.
The recent opening of three Stitching Training Centres in the village of Gohallan is a step in this direction. It was a collaborative effort of all villagers, government officials and security forces.
The Centres, opened to provide vocational trg to the women of Gohalan Village, were inaugurated by Mrs Parveena Begum, the sarpanch of the village.
The training centers will provide local women with the skills and knowledge necessary to earn their own money by stitching clothes.
This initiative is part of a larger effort to promote women empowerment and
economic independence in the region.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of villagers, including prominent personalities from Salamabad and Jabla villages, as well as Army personnel.
Mrs. Parveena Begum spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of the training centres for the local community.
“The opening of these sewing machine training centres is a significant step towards
empowering women in our village,” she said. “By providing them with the skills and knowledge to operate sewing machines, we are giving them the tools they need to
achieve economic independence and improve their lives”
The new training center is expected to have a positive impact on the local community and serve as a model for similar initiatives in other villages in the region”.
