Srinagar, August 10: After a temporary pause caused by landslides along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, a fresh group of pilgrims has resumed their sacred expedition to the Amarnath cave shrine. The Amarnath Yatra was momentarily halted due to the occurrence of landslides on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which serves as the link between the pilgrimage’s starting point in Jammu and its final destination in Srinagar. Embarking from the Pantha Chowk base camp, the pilgrims are en route to the Amarnath cave, choosing either the Baltal or Pahalgam routes. The disruption in the journey was prompted by landslides that rendered certain sections of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway impassable, leading to the temporary suspension in order to safeguard the well-being of the pilgrims. Officials revealed that the annual pilgrimage from Jammu to Srinagar, culminating at the revered cave shrine of Shri Amarnath, was paused on Wednesday due to a landslip along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district.
