SRINAGAR, May 3: In a successful operation, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district eliminated two terrorists in an encounter. The gunfight broke out early in the morning when the security forces, acting on specific information, launched a search operation in the area.
According to the police, the terrorists were asked to surrender, but they chose to open fire instead. In the ensuing exchange, both terrorists were neutralized. No casualties were reported among the security forces.
The police recovered arms and ammunition from the encounter site. The area has been cordoned off, and a search operation is underway to ensure that no other terrorists are hiding in the vicinity.
