Kashmir : In an encounter with security forces in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Tuesday, two terrorists were killed, according to officials. One of the militants was reportedly involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma in February of this year.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq, who was also known as Abrar and affiliated with the terror outfit LeT, as stated by Additional DGP (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar. Vijay Kumar mentioned, “Abrar was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma.”
Sanjay Sharma had tragically lost his life outside his residence in the Achan region of Pulwama. He was employed as an ATM guard at J&K Bank.
Last month, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted search operations at seven different locations spanning three districts in South Kashmir in connection with Sharma’s murder.
A joint team comprising the army, CRPF, and police is actively conducting search operations in the area.
