A Tehsildar posted in an area of Jammu District has been recently transferred to a far-flung area of another District. How closely he was associated with the property dealers and real estate developers of his area is evident from the fact that a grand party was hosted in a renowned club in Jammu by the Property Dealers who were beneficiaries of illegal acts of this Tehsildar. The party was a grand event where various exotic gourmet foods and drinks were served. This Tehsildar, while he was posted in this area, did a lot of illegal work in connivance with the real estate developers and property dealers of the area ranging from grabbing land illegally to helping the land dealers to sell landmarked as a green zone by the administration. The dealers also gave him a big share of the money earned by these illegal means with the active help of this officer, as an act of gratitude towards the Tehsildar this grand party was hosted by the property dealers of the area.
As per reports this Tehsildar was transferred after complaints were received by the senior officers against his conduct, during his tenure, he was hand in glove with the property dealers of the area. He used to strike all illegal deals in the secure comfort of his home. In some cases, deals were also made in some famous hotels in Jammu. Once even Divisional Commissioner reprimanded him for his unlawful acts of helping the property dealers in developing illegal colonies in an area under his jurisdiction.
An internal inquiry was conducted against the Tehsildar and found that he was indeed hand in glove with the property dealers of the area in developing and selling illegal residential colonies. After this enquiry, he was shunted out of the present posting and was transferred to an obscure station in another district. But the officer is trying his level best to modify or change this transfer order.
A link was established during the party hosted by the property dealers with a BJP leader. The tehsildar is requesting this BJP leader to get this order rescinded and manage a lucrative post for him. The BJP leader has assured the officer that he will manage a good post for him. Even after being transferred from the area he participated in a private function in the area where the new Tehsildar and the BJP leader were also present. During the function, the Tehsildar was observed keeping the BJP leader in good humour so that he helps him get a choice posting so that he is saved from going to a far-flung area. ‘
