Kashmir, Apr 27 : Yesterday in the Kashmir Valley, security forces apprehended a terrorist associate of the proscribed terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammad at Sopore in Baramulla district. Acting on specific information, a joint Mobile Vehicle Check Post was established by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles at Hygam near a railway crossing bridge in the Tarzoo police station’s jurisdiction. During the search, a suspect was intercepted, who tried to flee but was caught by the alert joint party. The individual was found in possession of incriminating materials and a hand grenade.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he worked as a terrorist associate for Jaish-e-Mohammad and was continually searching for opportunities to carry out terror attacks on security forces and civilians. A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Tarzoo Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
