Srinagar, Jul 21: In response to a scuffle that occurred at the Sheshnag base camp of the Amarnath Yatra last week, leading to minor injuries to some pilgrims and ponywallas, authorities have arrested three individuals. Kashmir’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Vijay Kumar, stated that certain misleading and baseless videos were circulated on social media, falsely claiming that stones were thrown at pilgrims.
Taking prompt action, an FIR has been registered to address the incident. Sheshnag, located on the Pahalgam axis of the Amarnath Yatra in Anantnag district, witnessed the altercation among ponywallas on July 15. Thankfully, the situation was swiftly brought under control.
ADGP Kumar reassured the public that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims, emphasizing their dedication to a peaceful yatra. A case has been registered at Pahalgam police station, and the authorities urge people not to fall prey to rumors and misinformation.
