SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that the transfer policy, which governs the transfer of employees in the region, will not apply to Rehbar-e-Taleem (RET) and Rehbar-e-Taleem (RRET) teachers. These teachers are employed on a contractual basis in the education department of the region.
The order was issued by the Director of School Education, Kashmir. It stated that RETs and RRETs would not be transferred until further notice, and that their cases would be dealt with on an individual basis.
This decision was made after a meeting between representatives of the J&K Teachers Forum and the Lieutenant Governor of the region. The representatives had raised concerns about the transfer policy, stating that it would negatively impact the education of students in the region.
The decision has been welcomed by RETs and RRETs, who have expressed relief at the news. They stated that the transfer policy had caused them significant stress and anxiety, and that they were grateful for the government’s decision.
The J&K government has stated that it remains committed to providing quality education to students in the region and that it will continue to work with teachers to achieve this goal.
